2009! & The RetroVault has now officially been running for over five years. Who knew it would still not be finished?! When I started it way back in August 2003, It seemed like the perfect way to honour my old 8-Bit memories and get some experience with a new web technology. But, as with a lot of my projects what started out with all good intentions got superseded with another project and then another and so on. Well I am glad to say that the RetroVault is back on the top of my list and as such I have given the site a complete overhaul. New features have been added and will be enabled throughout the year. Most noticeably the Forum Section will be a place for people to show off their 8-bit collections and discuss their 8-Bit experiences. We also have a new site sponsor 'UGO' who have helped fund the site for the next year.

Well Happy New Year to everyone A bit late I know, but I started a new job at the end of last year & have been tied up since! Hence no updates for over a month.

What has happened though is someone from SWEDEN has tried to rape the site for it's files and pushed my agreed bandwidth quota past it's limit! So thank you very much for that!! What I do not understand is that they didn't manage to get anything? Basically if your reading this please don't try it again as webharvesters will not work against the site. I've got your IP logged and I know who your service provider is! I really do not want to go through the hassle of trying to pursue some sort of legal action.

The system is in place to make it easy for everyone to use the site as I said in the downloads section, if this sort of thing keeps happening I'll be forced to make people register (& no one likes that!)

Hi all! Just a quick update as to why the 'Cover Scans' have been taken off-line for a while. To be quite honest I acquired them from SMSPower's site without asking. Which as you all know is wrong! Maxim (webmaster of SMSpower) had spent a long time collecting and putting together all the images. He quite rightly pointed out that I should have asked before posting them on my site or given both Maxim & SMSPower the credit they deserve (As well as everyone who donated they're pics to his site)!

So with that in mind, I've decided to start from scratch, with the help of anyone who is willing! Basically I'd like to compile a Master System & Gamegear archieve! If you've got some spare time (and a scanner!) & would like to be credited for all your hard work! (and maybe a ftp account to the Roms section) drop me an email at images@retrovault.com .

Hey!! Just to let you know!! I've changed hosts over the weekend so some areas of the site are down at the moment! (particularly 'Downloads'). I'll let you know when it's back up and running at full capacity!! Hopefully by swapping host's I'll be able to improve the site even more! :)

...Bought the domain 'theretrovault.com'!!!! As it looks as though someone has borrowed the good name! I wouldn't mind so much but it looks as though it's going to be an almost exact copy of my idea! To bring all those old 'Gaming memories' back to life!! Well may the best site win! (or provide!).
